The move, aimed at ensuring long-term sustainability, focuses the company on transaction-based monetization and a leaner cost structure while it continues global expansion efforts. This layoff reflects broader challenges in the Indian startup ecosystem, even as Loco reports growth with 6 million monthly active users. The gaming and live-streaming industry in India is expanding, with significant investor backing, including a $42 million Series A round last year.
